Contra-Indications of Sound Healing

Below is a list of contra-indications of sound healing with crystal singing bowls.

  • Pregnancy. Sound travels 10 times faster in water than it does in air, so if you have a little growing baby in your belly, or a full bladder, it will move around a little.

  • Epilepsy. Some rare forms of epilepsy may be triggered by sound. If you have been diagnosed with epilepsy please check with your doctor whether a sound healing session is safe for you.

  • Severe or Clinical Mental Health Problems. Please check with your doctor or mental health professional that a sound healing session is safe for you.

  • Implants or plates in the body (metal plates, pins, ball joints in particular). Sound travels 17 times faster in metal than it does in air, so if you have a metal plate in your hip, or gums, or any part of your body, it might move and twitch a little, and that might feel uncomfortable.

  • Electric devices in the body (pacemaker, insulin pumps, prostheses, cochlear implants, drug delivery pumps, spinal cord stimulation, and deep brain stimulation etc). Please check with your doctor that a sound healing session will be safe for you.

If you’re unsure about health conditions, please consult and gain permission from your doctor before progressing with your sound healing booking.
